Hello there! I'm Susan, founder of Gift Baskets Galore. I've always revelled in designing, decorating and creating. As a child I would gather items from my Mom's kitchen to create cheese and crackers plates and modest dessert buffets. My little creations were not only fun to assemble but brought everyone together, the essence of my gift baskets. I am often asked how I came to be in the gifting business, over twenty five years ago I recognized the need for real estate closing gifts. Personally delivering my gifts to Realtors and new home owners began generating requests for gift baskets for all occasions. Gift Baskets Galore continues to evolve with renewed excitement at every season. I remain focused on providing customers with tastefully designed gifts assembled with attention to every detail. Whether you have been with us for many years, or new to Gift Baskets Galore, I am grateful for the support and enthusiasm you bring! It is that support that inspires me to design and create gifts of lasting impressions. I invite you to choose from any of our customer favorites or contact us for a custom curated gift to suit any occasion. I look forward to making your gift giving needs effortless.
Upon receiving a degree in fashion merchandising, Susan began her career in women's ready-to wear. Wardrobing women and designing window displays satisfied her desire to create while she obtained business skills for future endeavors. Fresh out of college with a light resume yet eager and motivated, she applied for a managerial position in men's formal wear the beginning of her career in retail management. New opportunities included store manager positions in children's wear, leather goods, furs and bridal attire. Among her acquired skills, she most enjoyed training and mentoring young professionals which remains a welcome opportunity today.
Wedding Bells, Tiny Toes and Gift Baskets Galore!
With entrepreunerial aspirations and while planning her own wedding, Susan celebrated the grand opening of her bridal shop in Danbury CT. Her business proved exciting and luxurious for many years but she she had a new role to fill with the birth of her first Son. While raising her Son, she became a member of the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade and began attending trade shows in search of foods and confections for her gift baskets. Trade shows offered tastings of unique and creative products such as "Hotter than Heck " sauces and dips, imported truffles and pasta sauces at every turn. Her current website offerings are based on everyday gourmet, fresh cheeses, fruit and fresh baked goods, sure to please even the most discriminating palate.
From Vision to Reality..
As Susan's business grew so did her need for a storefront where she could display her beautiful gift baskets and welcome visitors. Upon acquiring the perfect location and a 1920's three family home which would require major renovations, she and her Husband received an award from the Waterbury Beautification Committee for her charming storefront.
When not tending to business, Susan can be found in her photo studio, the latest addition to her gift shop. In addition to photographing her gift baskets, she enjoys photographing family portraits, children, informal weddings and holiday parties as time allows. When in need of a reprieve, she retreats to her family home in Cape Cod with her Husband, Sons and two Biewer Terriers.
